Informational Architecture

Site Map

This sitemap outlines the main pages and features in our application and how the separate components interact with each other. This is necessary during the design process as it provides a high level organizational view of an application.

Our sitemap is organized into two parts; User login/ Registration process and the main application. After designing our initial sketches, this process  allowed our team to determine the areas of improvement for navigation and refine our main pages and user's task flow.

After initial download of the application the user will be brought to a page where they can choose to login or sign up. Upon successful login the user will be brought into the home page. A new user will create an account and complete a 7 step questionnaire that will be used to curate a watering schedule for them. This will then bring them to the home page.

The main application will have options to navigate to different pages for searching, a camera, a forum, and the user profile.

The search feature is composed of searching for plants and searching for nearby plant shops. Searching for a plant will include pages for viewing the plant profile, a map for locating where to buy this plant, and a plant shop profile that will include contact information for the business. Searching for a nearby plant shop will include pages for the plant shop profile, and the business owner's profile.

The camera option has two features; identifying plants and flaw detection. Selection for plant identification will bring the user to a plant profile. Flaw detection will include pages for a health status page or a disease information page.

The forum will include pages for posting a to the forum.

The users profile will include a page for the settings, and then options for viewing their plants, their saved forum posts, and their message threads.
